Here is a secret! The majority of us do not use that much power, it seems like a lot due to the cost but if you look more deeply into what your household is powering you will be suprised. Most common appliances is a fridge/freezer, washing machine, TV and Internet and lights that are more on than off. Other appliances like microwaves, kettle and dishwashers etc… ar only on for a short period.

These appliaces together does not amount to a lot,  where is it becomes a large amount of power is the overall monthly consumption!

Once youhave solar this is where the magic happens, during the day the solar panels supply the running loads (fridge/freezer…). This puts your house in a “off grid” state meaniing that there is little to no use from the grid (municipal supply), then at night, depending on your battery size, yo use your battery to supply the loads, this keeps you in an “off grid” state until the batteries are depleted the the grid takes over.

As you can see getting your home into an “off grid” position as much as possible is where you WILL save money. Even a small system to start with that assists the power supply during the day and you use the grid at night can make a massive impact!
